Torcadino

IMVU Roleplay is hard. It doesn't matter if you roleplay as a viking, furry, or as a human, the roleplay on IMVU can get very, very taxing. In this, you have people who either know how to have fun, or, you have people who have a stick shoved so far up their asses, they, themselves, don't know which end is which. In the IMVU Gorean City of Torcadino, you have this very problem. The Administrator Spyro, is an amazing man, and friend, however, I am sure, he will admit, that some of his citizens are lacking. In this, some show up, some do not. Some have been in the group page ever since it was made, but haven't been active in the roleplay (and this one wonders if they just joined for shits n' giggles), while others, strive to make the roleplay as good a story, as it can be without sticking right to the books that author John Norman wrote.

In the many months I have been apart of Torcadino, I've had my fair share of people I'd rather not see return to it's wonderful roleplay, but have had to bite my tongue, and simply allow it to play out. Others, have betrayed many of it's citizens, but refuse to admit to such folly. So, I had a friend of mine come to me and ask me a few questions, that I hope will one day be passed on to those who roleplay in this amazing city.

Q: Why do you remain in this city if you feel it's lacking?
A: I stay because no matter how bad the roleplay may or may not get, it's still fun to read through the logs, and see how each person views the city that Spyro has worked so hard on. Without him, I don't think I'd of stuck around as long as I have, because you have one too many people on IMVU, who think they're shit don't stink, that their city is better than another's. He doesn't act that way. If you have an issue, he tries to solve it.

Q: Do you, personally, feel included in the roleplay?
A: Not really, no. I tend to just sit around and be a lawn orneament, but that is merely because I have no idea what is what. Gorean Roleplay was my way of just expanding my views on roleplay as a whole. IMVU is hard enough to roleplay on, but when the usual roleplays die down, such as viking and so on, where do you go? Gorean roleplay by no means, is easy. It's based on a book series that doesn't allow for much leeway to make mistakes or screw up, but I don't have the money, or the laptop memory to either buy or download the books, so by just sitting there, I've learned quite a bit, or, at least enough to know that I'm a hell lot safer under Spyro's ruling, then I would be anywhere else.

Q: What do you think could be done to improve the roleplay in Torcadino?
A: Including people. There are so many people who are inactive in the roleplay itself, that they just sit there in the group page and for lack of a better term, collecting dust. It shouldn't just be all up to Spyro to invite someone and say "hey do you wanna roleplay today?" Others should make that effort as well. Personally, I, myself, do not know where I stand in the roleplay, but I don't bother to ask because, I'm hardly around enough to do much of anything. I also think that, people who do have a stick up their asses, should realize one thing; Spyro runs the show, not them. This is his city and no one else's. We may call it home, and such, but he is the one who has the final say on everything and anything.

Q: Do you feel safe under Spyro's command?
A: Most definitely. Even when he's away, I know I can inbox him with any issue, and he will have it dealt with the next time he's online. He's not one to tolerate bullshit, and that's what I like about him. If you're having a bad day and you make a mistake, he'll pull you aside and ask you what's wrong, and then help you out if he can. Spyro has made me feel more secure in Gorean Roleplay then anyone else. Others have made me fearful for even my out of roleplay safety, to which isn't fair. I personally think, he's succeeded at showing people that he not only knows what he's doing, but he knows how to handle any and all situations that are presented to him.

Q: Do you foresee Torcadino remaining under his care?
A: Without a doubt. He knows what he's doing and has managed to keep his city safe. He keeps a good eye on things, and knows when people are backstabbing him. Though, it wouldn't be in their best interests if I found out, because I've personally told him, I'll kick anyone's ass that tries to ruin what he's got going.

Q: Does real life make roleplaying in this city hard?
A: Sometimes. I've been abused in the past, both physically and mentally/emotionally, so sometimes what I see is hard. I've had to on several occasions look away from my laptop because of past memories that still haunt me. But I continue to pull my cowgirl panties up and deal with it. I'm not about to let what happened to me in real life, ruin something that is just fantasy. Those who allow themselves to get to me, are just proving to be bigger dickheads.

Q: Does Torcadino suit you personality?
A: Without a doubt! I'm as hot headed as it's leader is, if not more so (Aries duh!) but he and I get along great! I've met a few good people, but I consider Spyro to be the all time fave lolz. But yes, Torcadino suits me, simply because I know I can sit back and relax and simply watch what's going on in any one roleplay and know that my ass isn't gonna get booted because of it. I think that's how Spyro has made so many friends. He doesn't mind if you just sit there and watch, as long as you don't interrupt the ongoing roleplay.

Q: In closing, do you think Torcadino will still do as good as it's doing now, should Spyro leave IMVU?
A: Probably. Anyone can make a roleplay last. Anyone can build a roleplay and make it last as well. But sooner or later, you have to take a step back into the real world. Should he ever leave IMVU, which I doubt will happen any time soon, I think he'd hand the reins over to someone he knows can handle the city and keep it going. Torcadino is the only undefeated city on IMVU, in Gorean roleplay, that I know of, that hasn't been reconquered by another person. That says alot about Spyro himself. He's not willing to settle for anything but the best for his city, for the roleplay that he built with his own two hands. Sure he had help, but the majority is all his own doing. Any mistakes he's made, he's had to live with and correct either on his own, or with help from those he trusts. Should he ever leave IMVU, which again, most likely won't be any time soon, I would think and hope, he'd hand her over to someone who loves Torcadino as much as he does.
